Fashion Advisor.

There's few people in this world who can tell me what to wear and I would listen.

My fashion advisor:
Maria Teresa Jordan
[commonly known as my mother]

Polo shirts are timeless.
I would wear the same outfit, but shorten the jean skirt

[Hong Kong Disneyland]
By age 20, my mom has traveled all over Asia
She used to buy clothes from HK, Bangkok, & Japan

[Japan]
My siblings & I often tease her for being a hustler
She did everything from owning a salon to being a jeweler

She's always one-step ahead
Shoes & bags are her forte.
I don't even argue w/ her when she suggests on the next shoes I should get.
I don't want to mention her collection of shoes & purses because I'll just be upset that I can't have them yet.

She's taught me that style is about class and quality.

Can't wait for our next trip to the mall LOL

To Inang

To my amazing grandmother Teresita Jordan,

I cannot thank you enough for raising eleven wonderful children and taking care of all of us. You are truthfully one of the toughest and strongest person I've ever known in my life. You were the soul of our family and the one who reminded us that the love of the family was the most important love one can have. No one can ever replace you. I will remember most of all is your talent for cooking. I will never forget the feast you always prepared no matter what time of day it was. While all the little girls had barbie dolls, you bought me miniature ceramic pots so I can practice my cooking... My memories of you will fade as time goes on, but I will never forget how much you meant to me.

Mahal kita Inang. Salamat po sa lahat na ginawa nyo para sa amin. Hindi kita makakalimutan.

This house has been through wars and natural disasters, but each year it remains standing.
Without my grandparents, Inang and Daddy, I would never have known and appreciated a loving home.

RIP 6/22/10

Suburban Style

Style & fashion are often only associated with major cities.
Don't ignore suburbia.

These closeted fashionistas are often bred under these monotonous roofs just waiting to be discovered.
So to you little suburban babies, I encourage you to explore and put a show that city babies would envy.

Sexify and modernize your preppy style with key pieces city kids can't pull off.

My family's suburban style has a little edge that would make JCrew followers scratch their head:

Go in peace & serve this planet w/ some good fashion :)

style pointer: for dudes.

well i have to admit, i'm quiet picky with men especially on their style.
maybe its not picky - some call it unrealistic views.
whatever it is, i thought it would be a great idea to give pointers.
maybe then---- dudes will start to flock my way. HAHA

my dad gives me lots of advices - i hear some & others i seem to not hear well.
1 advice I always remember though: "You can always tell what kind of a man you are staring at with his SHOES"
ok well he doesn't exactly say it like that but translating tagalog [filipino language] directly wouldn't make sense.

my dad also has more shoes than i do.
he also has this vintage cleaning box with brushes and shiner.
serious stuff.

Few of his boxes.
My dad loves Ferragamo.
Who wouldn't? The man makes classics.

Vintage cleaning box.
Have to ask him where he got it.

I'm not sure why but I always come across men's style and I get so fascinated [almost jealous] of some of the stuff!
I mean women have SO MUCH stuff on style but after awhile I get bored.
I think its fascinating to have an image of what you want in person. Honestly, how would you know what you want otherwise?

theshoebuff was kind enough to lay down the essentials.
i'm not an expert on men's wear but i know what i like.

*i love the saddle shoes. not feelin the other pics pictured.

I absolutely love GQ. more times than acknowledged - more than Vogue or Cosmo.
when i could afford it, i'm subscribing to it and i don't subscribe to magazines.
but since its the recession, i just stalk the website and go to barnes&noble to inhale all the info.

december issue had a great piece on boots.
undeniably love every single boot featured.
if i find a woman's version of each- i'm saving up!

http://www.gq.com/style/wear-it-now/200912/best-leather-boots-winter-essentials
*the Bed Stu and Artful Dodger are my favorites.

Seriously guys: LOOK DOWN before you step out of your door.
[your zipper might be open! HAHA]
In seriousness, shoes do matter.
How else would you go from point A to point B?

my 5 BANGin' tips:
1. Stop it with the running shoes and jeans!
[gym wear = gym shorts and running shoes]
2. Invest on really classy dress shoes.
[a suit does not go well with timberlands
or running shoes or your 8th grade dress shoes!]
3. Select a style that go with your style.
[don't be something your not]
4. Be comfy.
[don't walk around like you're in stilettos LOL]
5. Research. Check out stores before picking.
[hellooo SALES! and CLASSICS never get old- hence the title!]
